Which kitchen utensils does every kitchen need?
A turner, a ladle, a whisk, tongs, a slotted spoon and a peeler cover most everyday cooking. Add a good cutting board, a colander and a grater, and you are ready for almost any recipe.
Which utensils are safe for non-stick pans?
Use silicone, nylon or wooden utensils on non-stick and other coated cookware. Metal utensils can scratch a coating, so keep them for stainless steel pans and pots.
Wood, bamboo or plastic cutting board?
Wood and bamboo are gentle on knife edges and look good on the table; plastic boards are light and easy to clean. Many kitchens keep separate boards for raw meat and for vegetables or bread.
Can kitchen utensils go in the dishwasher?
Many silicone, nylon and stainless steel utensils can. Wooden and bamboo items last longer when washed by hand and dried straight away. Always follow the care instructions for your product.
